About sciatic nerve pain (sciatica)

Sciatic nerve pain is characterised by shooting, burning pains throughout your buttocks or legs. It is often associated with pins & needles and limb numbness.

Osteopaths will make an assessment of your pelvis and spinal area to determine the best method of relieving the muscle spasms. Once the muscle spasms are relieved, the sciatica will be relieved. In the case of severe disc injury, the benefits of osteopathic treatment may be minimal and you may need to consult your GP for further pain relief. Osteopaths will be able to advise you on your personal needs.

Osteopaths gently mobilise arthritic joints to increase the range of motion of the joint and therefore also decreasing pain. This treatment technique can assist even severe arthritis sufferers.
